Professor Lau discusses the evolution of illumination technologies from fire and lamps to today’s energy-efficient and versatile LEDs. She explains how her research focuses on micro-LED, micro-Display technologies, and the potential applications of her work range from creating more dynamic traffic management systems to transforming windowless rooms with virtual windows that display real-time external environments to virtual reality glasses.
Professor Lau's connection to HKUST and her role in fostering a collaborative and supportive academic environment.
